Two holiday weeks for children, a four week guitar group for adult beginners, and blocks of private lessons for anyone who wants a head start before Term 1.
Four mornings, two hours each, in a group of three or four. Small enough that every child plays the whole time.
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 January. Ages 8 to 12, no experience needed.
First chords, strumming in time, and one whole song played the whole way through by Thursday.
Each child needs their own guitar. If you do not have one yet, say so on the form and I will suggest a good beginner one.
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 January. Ages 9 and up, for children who can already play a little guitar, piano or sing.
The group learns one song as a band, and on Thursday we record it. Every family gets the finished recording.
I hold a Diploma in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute, so the recording is done properly. It is for your family. Nothing goes online without your say so.
Children’s weeks
A $50 deposit holds a place. The $130 balance is due by Tuesday 5 January. I will email the payment details when I confirm your place.
Change of plans? Withdraw by Friday 4 December and the deposit comes back in full. After that it is kept, because the place stopped someone else booking.
Each week runs with three children or more. If a week has fewer than three by 4 December, I will cancel it and refund every deposit.
Wednesdays 6, 13, 20 and 27 January, 6:00 to 7:00pm. Four evenings, three or four people, no experience needed.
For anyone who has always meant to learn. Holding the guitar, your first chords, and a song you can play for someone by the end of the month.
$120 for the four weeks, paid when you book. That holds one of the four places. Bring your own guitar.
Private lessons over the holidays, bought as a block. For example, ten half hour lessons over two or three weeks for $350.
Same price as every lesson here, $35 a half hour, at daytime times you cannot get during the school term. Piano, guitar or beginner singing.
Good for a new student who wants a head start before Term 1, or an adult with time off in January.
Everything happens at my home studio, 24 Westerley Place, Long Bay, Auckland 0630. Street parking is about 20 metres from the door.
Weekdays only. No weekend sessions, and nothing on a public holiday. The studio is closed from 24 December to 4 January.
Booking sends me your details. Your place is confirmed when I reply, not before.
Weekly lessons carry on through the holidays unless you tell me you are away. Summer Fast Track is extra, for students who want more over the break.
Texting is usually fastest. I will not pick up during a lesson, but I will get back to you the same evening or the next morning.
